St. I's Hospitality Ministry October '04 Meeting Minutes
Hospitality Fall Social
October 24, 2004
We had a wonderful day to enjoy each other! There was an array of international foods that were shared by Fr. Moses
and our Hospitality Ministers. Opening prayer was led by Fr. Patrick Moses at 12:45 PM.
Beth Abelo, Rolly and Terry Arenz, Elizabeth Bagsic, Aurora Ballares, Gina Borillo, Celestine Canque, Luggi Cantacessi,
Richard Corse, Rose Mary Fiola, Tom & Connie Holloway, Olga Holmberg, Lily Lui, Dee Logan, Pat & Farnie
Luistro, Fr. Patrick Moses, Heidi Pragale, Carlos Ramirez, and Carroll & Marilyn Sweet were in attendance and
introductions were made.
At 1:25 PM. the meeting began and Hospitality ministers were reminded of the October Mass count and that some count
sheets were found in the back of the church blank and not filled in.
NEW BUSINESS
Calendars for the Hospitality 2004-2005 were handed out. Hospitality Donut Duty Sat. Nov. 6 and Sun. Nov. 7, 2004.
Hospitality Donut Duty Sat. Feb. 19 and Sun. Feb. 20, 2005 were announced.
Dee Logan announced the December Advent meeting and Christmas Social Dec. 9,
2004 will be at her home at
6674 San Francisco Dr. Buena Park,
PHONE: 714- 527-5242 TIME: 6:30 PM.
A notice will be placed on the Hospitality Bulletin Board the last week of November so we can get a count of those
attending. Dee expressed “Looking forward to seeing all of you there!”
Fr. Patrick Moses announced starting December 3rd, each Friday, 24 hour adoration will start along with our 13th
of each month adoration. Time frames are being assigned. Hospitality ministers asked Fr. Patrick to see if the
hours of 7-8 PM (1st choice) or 8-9 PM (2nd choice) was available. The times were picked because many work in various
areas and travel time had to be considered. This does not keep anyone from coming at any other hour of adoration.
Assigning school and organizations a time frame would assure that someone would be in attendance at all times.
Discussion of the Instruction of the respect of Mass procedure was discussed. Many rush out before the priest leaves
the altar. Apparently, many do not remember that they are to allow the priest, to pass through the center aisle
before others leave, known as respect. If they must leave it should be by the side aisles. Further discussion will
be coming with Fr. Pat's wishes as far as the doors are concerned.
Doc (Carroll) Sweet updates our schedules and announced if there are anything wrong on any schedule to please call
him to make the necessary changes.
It was noted that at 7pm on Wednesdays, ministers are needed for collection at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Mass
and novena.
Carlos Ramirez handed out for approval and suggestions Hospitality Ministry Charter and Duties of Core Team Members
and asked for input to make changes more understandable. PLEASE give him your input ASAP.
Everyone had a VERY good time! The event closed at 2:30 PM.
REMEMBER:
People may forget what we say or do BUT they NEVER forget how we make them
FEEL.

“NOT TOO FAR FROM HERE”
Somebody's down to the last dime
Somebody’s running out of time
Not too far from here
Somebody’s got nowhere to go
Somebody needs a little hope
Not too far from here
And I may not know their name
But I’m praying just the same
That you’ll use me Lord
To wipe away the tears
“Cause somebody’s crying.
Not too far from here
Somebody’s troubled and confused
Somebody’s got nothing left to lose
Not too far from here
Somebody’s forgotten how to trust
And somebody’s dying for love
Not too far from here.
It may be a stranger’s face
But I’m praying for Your grace
To move in me
And take away the fear
“Cause somebody’s hurting
Not too far from here
Help me. Lord
Not to turn away from pain
Help me, not to rest
While those around me weep
Give me your strength and compassion
When somebody finds
The road of life too steep.
Now I’m letting down my guard
And I’m opening my heart
Help me speak Your love
To every needful ear
Someone is waiting
Not too far from here
Someone is waiting
Not too far from here.
